Traffic
Road work will continue around Charlottetown today causing traffic delays and/or road closures in some areas.
Belvedere Avenue will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic between Parkview Drive and Mount Edward Road this week.
Work will also take place on Parkview Drive, Elizabeth Street, High Street and Christie Drive.
These streets will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic. Traffic control personnel will be on-site, but drivers may want to seek alternate routes. Sidewalks in the area may also be impacted during this work. Local traffic will be permitted through.
Sidewalk work will also take place on Queen Street between Paton Court and the east side of Atlantic Road.
Weather
A few flurries and blowing snow are expected today, bringing with it high winds and a high of -1 C. Windchill in the morning will be -12 C and -7 C in the afternoon.
Tonight’s low is -8 C, with a windchill of -4 C in the evening and -11 C overnight.
ADVISORY: A wind warning remains in effect for Queens County.
Strong northwesterly winds gusting up to 90 km/h, especially over exposed areas of the coast, are forecast to diminish to below warning criteria early this morning.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur.
High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
STORM WATCH: Another storm is expected to affect the Maritimes on Friday, bringing as much as 10 to 15 cm of snow by overnight Friday night.
A low-pressure system will move up the eastern U.S. seaboard tonight and track south of New Brunswick tomorrow.
Precipitation will taper to scattered flurries or showers overnight into Saturday morning.
Strong southeast to easterly winds are also expected ahead of the system during the day on Friday.

ADVISORY: The morning crossings were cancelled today, but the afternoon crossings are a go, starting with the 2:45 p.m. crossing from Wood Islands, P.E.I.
