P.E.I. Sen. Percy Downe reelected to international board

P.E.I. Senator Percy Downe, centre, one of three vice-chairs on the board of the Parliamentary Network of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF), was re-elected for another two-year term at the recent annual meeting.

Founded in 2000, the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank and IMF is an independent, non-governmental organization that provides a platform for parliamentarians from World Bank Group (WBG) and IMF member countries to advocate for increased accountability and transparency in development co-operation.

Downe is the only North American serving on the international board.

Keynote speakers at this year’s meeting included Christine Lagarde, left, managing director of the IMF, and Kristalina Georgieva, interim president of the World Bank Group.
