Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for snowfall across Prince Edward Island later this week.
The weather agency said a low-pressure system will approach the Maritimes from New England and track eastward near or just south of Nova Scotia on Thursday.
Snow will develop across the province Thursday morning and then spread eastward through the day before ending by early evening.
Accumulating snow is expected across P.E.I. with amounts possibly reaching 15 cm in some areas.
Further details will be available with forecasts issued on Wednesday.
