A woman in her 20s who travelled to P.E.I. for work is the latest confirmed case of COVID-19 in the province.
Chief public health officer Dr. Heather Morrison confirmed the new positive case today, bringing the total number for the province to 58 since the pandemic began.
The woman travelled internationally and her work is not related to health care.
She has been in isolation since arriving in P.E.I. on Sept. 20 and underwent routine testing as part of the standard public health protocols in place for people who arrive in the province from outside the Atlantic travel bubble.
A notice from the province said the woman is doing well and contact tracing of close contacts has been completed.
The woman travelled to Toronto from Vancouver on Air Canada flight AC128 departing Sept. 19 and landing on Sept. 20.
She then flew to Charlottetown on Air Canada flight AC7460 the same day.
All passengers who travelled on those flights are advised to monitor for symptoms.
The province said there is no evidence of community spread of COVID-19 in P.E.I. and the risk of transmission remains low.
