O’LEARY

O’Leary Town Council could know as early as Friday whether a planned strip mall will be going ahead.
Council’s development committee chair Blake Adams said development work could commence almost immediately if the prices are right.

Prices were not right with the tenders the town opened on March 29, so it made some changes to the specifications on April 6 and re-issued the tender. Bids close this Thursday.

Adams said Council has two confirmed tenants for the 10,000 square foot development and hopes to secure a third. He said the town will finance the development.

Council is also awaiting a final design for a subdivision it has been working towards on the former Pate property which the town now owns. Adams said the town should be able to access the Gas Tax Fund to help cover the cost of developing the subdivision.
