There are no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Newfoundland and Labrador as of today, following one confirmed case reported on Friday.

Friday’s positive result was from a woman under 40 years of age who is a non-resident of the province and flew to St. John’s from Toronto on August 6 on a travel exemption. She experienced no symptoms on the flight and is now self-isolating.

The Department of Health and Community Services is asking anyone who was on Air Canada Flight AC690 departing Toronto for St. John’s on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020, to call 811 if they develop symptoms.

To date, 263 people in NL have recovered and 26,696 have been tested for the virus.

The province is still in Alert Level 2.
