CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Police may need to wait some time before interviewing the motorcyclist injured in a single-vehicle collision Sunday in Charlottetown that killed the driver’s wife.
The man was airlifted to a hospital in Halifax Sunday and is in stable condition, says Const. Ron Kennedy, a reconstructionist with the Charlottetown Police Services.
Kennedy says police have not had the opportunity to speak with the man other than very preliminary discussions.
“He is one of our key witnesses,’’ says Kennedy.

He says police are in the process of interviewing witnesses to the collision that occurred on Riverside Drive, just east of Southgate Drive, at about 3:20 p.m.
A 62-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kennedy says the woman was married to the motorcyclist and the pair lived in eastern P.E.I. Police are not releasing the names of either person.
Kennedy says police are interested in speaking with witnesses including people that may have recorded the collision on a dash camera.
Police said a three-wheel Gold Wing motorcycle was travelling east on Riverside Drive when it appeared to have struck the curb and hit a streetlight.
Kennedy says alcohol has “pretty much’’ been ruled out as a factor in the fatal collision.
