Former radio personality Zack Bell will be seeking the Progressive Conservative nomination in District 10, Charlottetown-Winsloe.

A by-election is expected in Charlottetown-Winsloe within the next six months. Liberal MLA Robert Mitchell resigned his seat in the district earlier this month.

The PCs will see a contested nomination contest in the district. Last week educational assistant Susie Dillon announced she would also seek the nomination.

Bell was born in Montague and grew up in Guernsey Cove. He worked with NewCap Radio in Charlottetown as a reporter, sales representative and as the popular long time co-host of the morning show on K-Rock 105.5. Zack currently works as a sales and marketing representative for Kenmac Energy.

Bell has served as Ambassador with Tourism PEI’s Ask An Islander Program, is a minor hockey coach with the Charlottetown Minor Hockey Association and teaches Sunday School at Winsloe United Church. He lives in West Royalty with his wife Ashley and their children Sophia and Harrison.

“As someone with a young family I want our tomorrows to be better than today so that’s why I am stepping up to help do my part for the residents of Charlottetown-Winsloe,” Bell said in a statement.
