The province’s minister responsible for the Status of Women, Natalie Jameson, has announced funding for six organizations that provide support for women and girls.

The funding will be offered as grants from the Interministerial Women’s Secretariat.

“The work of these groups enhance awareness for women’s equality, as well as education and social action in our province,” Jameson said.

The organizations are the P.E.I. Association of Community Living, the Adventure Group, the Women’s Network of P.E.I., the Coalition for Women in Government, the Aboriginal Women’s Association and the Sierra Club.

The grants amount to $85,400 between the six organizations.
