Woman who backed into vehicle while drunk pleads guilty in P.E.I. court

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - A P.E.I. woman pleaded guilty in provincial court in Charlottetown to driving while impaired on New Year’s Eve.

Kristin Mary Perry, 23, appeared in court before Judge John Douglas Jan. 25.

Perry was taking part in some New Years Eve celebrations when she got into her vehicle and backed into another vehicle.

There was no damage caused, but police were called.

Once police arrived, they noticed signs of impairment.

Perry blew breath samples almost twice the legal limit.

She had no prior related criminal record.

Perry was sentenced to one day in jail and is prohibited from driving for one year.

She also must pay $1,000 fine and $300 to the victims of crime find.
