KENSINGTON, P.E.I. — A long-time Kensington volunteer firefighter was honoured last week at the council meeting.
Gerard ‘Jed’ Burt was a volunteer firefighter in the Kensington fire department from January 1984 until his retirement in December 2018.
Burt was presented with the town's Certification of Appreciation by Mayor Rowan Caseley.
“We are thankful for the many years of service and the role he’s played in protecting the lives of the Kensington area, as we are with all volunteers who willing to give their time and skills to answer the call,” said Caseley.
