SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – Three people were taken to hospital early Thursday afternoon after a truck and minivan collided near Reads Corner in Summerside.
The RCMP said it is believed one of the vehicles crossed the centre line on Highway 1A and struck the other head-on just after 1 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.
Three people in the vehicles were injured. They were taken to Prince County Hospital by ambulance. The RCMP were not aware of their current conditions, but all three were alert when they left the scene.
The crash happened on Route 1A, between Reads Corner and the Travellers Rest roundabout.
Traffic was diverted around the scene for about an hour as it was cleaned up.
