KENSINGTON, P.E.I. — The Town of Kensington is another step closer to an emergency warming shelter.

The town recently refurbished a generator for use at the Murray Christian Education Centre during emergencies.

A memorandum of understanding between the town and the centre was presented at the April council meeting.

After some discussion, at the suggestion of Coun. Jeff Spencer, council decided to add a clause to say the generator belongs to the town and another to say the town would take responsibility for restoring the building to its previous condition should the memorandum be discontinued and the generator be removed.

“That’s a good point made by Councillor Spencer," said Coun. Ivan Gallant.

"Obviously, it won’t be the same town council forever and might not be the same team managing the church forever, so it is a good piece of information to have added."
