Recreation director Sam Arsenault got council’s agreement to help with the costs of setting up a large events tent for Wednesday’s Acadian Day Festival, La Fête des Acadiens. The free festival takes place in the Tignish Bicentennial Park, getting underway at 6 p.m. It is a joint undertaking between the Town of Tignish and le Conseil Rév. S.-É.-Perrey inc. Arsenault said the event is a leadup to a major Acadian festival which is coming to Tignish next August.

The celebration features local entertainment including, Victor and Cathy Doucette, Monique Pendergast Doucette and Steven Perry, inflatables, face painting and treats for children.
