Tignish man violates fisheries act

SUMMERSIDE – Darrell J. Chaissson, 45, of Tignish has pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of lobsters measuring less than 73 mm, contrary to his lobster fishing license.

The charges are from May 14 and June 18 in Tignish.

Chaissson was sentenced to pay a fine of $11,500 and is prohibited from fishing for the first 24 hours of next year’s fishing season.
