SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — This spring, a group of six Summerside residents will be tasked with beefing up the current list of street names developers will have to choose from.

In a January City of Summerside planning board meeting, the street naming policy was discussed. Council decided not to change the policy, but rather add to the list of names and themes available to choose from.

The task force will have eight weeks to come up with some new ideas before they report back to council.

With a near-record five housing developments in the works for this year, council is looking forward to more street names acknowledging residents who have made meaningful contributions to the city.
