Summerside police seize pills found to contain fentanyl

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Summerside police seized a quantity of pills on May 9 that were later determined to contain fentanyl.

The pills are similar in size, shape, colour and markings to Percocet pills, which are a pain medication containing the ingredient oxycodone.

The source of the pills is still under investigation and no charges have been laid to date.

This is the first confirmed fentanyl seizure in the Summerside area.
