SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Summerside City Council has approved the purchase of a new fire truck from Fort Garry Fire Trucks in the amount of $596,760.

The new truck will replace another which has reached the end of its service life.

The city intends to pay for the new pumper over two years. This year it will pay $262,500, which will put the vehicle on order, while a further $308,314 will be paid from the 2020/2021 municipal budget. The vehicle will be delivered in 2020.

Fort Garry Fire Trucks was the highest-scoring bidder on the tender out of five applicants.
