SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A 36-year-old Summerside man was sentenced Aug. 31 for charges related to his part in an incident at Baker's Lighthouse Motel on April 28.
Stefan Reice Greencorn pleaded guilty to possession of a prohibited weapon without a permit and assault with a weapon.
Greencorn was sentenced to 45 days in jail and will serve 12 months of probation after his release. He also forfeited the weapon, brass knuckles, and is prohibited from owning any weapons for three years from the date of his release. A weapons possession charge was stayed.
The court also dealt with charges from a Feb. 18 incident. Greencorn pleaded guilty to mischief through property damage for destroying a camera belonging to another person. He was sentenced to 12 months of probation. A charge of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, in this case a hatchet, was stayed.
