CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 28-year-old Summerside man has been charged with theft.
Charlottetown police responded to a theft complaint at about 1:15 a.m. Nov. 21.
The complainant reported that his laptop had been stolen from his work desk at a business located on Richmond Street.
The theft was captured on video surveillance and police were able to obtain a physical description of the suspect.
At 2:45 a.m. while on patrol on Weymouth Street, police observed a man matching the description from the video.
The man was positively identified, arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and breach of probation.
He was released from custody and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
