SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A 29-year-old Summerside man is facing charges under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act after crashing his motorcycle Friday evening.

Summerside police received the call just before 7 p.m. on July 3 of a person doing a wheelie with a motorcycle on Summer Street.

The witness reported the driver crashed the motorcycle while doing the wheelie and was pushing the motorcycle away from the scene.

Police attended and located the man pushing the damaged motorcycle on Schurman Avenue.

Records checks showed the man was on release conditions to not operate a motor vehicle from previous driving related incidents.

He was arrested at the scene and will be appearing in court at a later date to answer to charges of breaching release conditions as well as possession of suspect methamphetamine and various Highway Traffic Act related charges.
