SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — SUMMERSIDE – Summerside Police Services is investigating a report of a gunshot being fired at a Belmont Street home early Monday morning.
No one was injured.
Police suspect the shooting occurred sometime between 1:30 and 2:30 a.m., but it was not reported until a resident of the home called police around 8:30 a.m.
Summerside police have said they do not believe this was a random event.
An RCMP K-9 unit assisted police with a search of the neighbourhood and the Summerside Police Services Major Crime Unit is continuing the investigation.
