Summerside home reportedly shot at early Monday morning

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — SUMMERSIDE – Summerside Police Services is investigating a report of a gunshot being fired at a Belmont Street home early Monday morning.

No one was injured.

Police suspect the shooting occurred sometime between 1:30 and 2:30 a.m., but it was not reported until a resident of the home called police around 8:30 a.m.

Summerside police have said they do not believe this was a random event.

An RCMP K-9 unit assisted police with a search of the neighbourhood and the Summerside Police Services Major Crime Unit is continuing the investigation.

Anyone with information on this matter is asked to call the Summerside Police Services at 902-432-1201 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
