SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The City of Summerside’s Bylaw Policy Review Committee (BPR) is gearing up to review a number of city policies.

Previously known under the former council’s tenure as the Governance Policy and Strategy Committee, BPR is a committee of council tasked with reviewing and updating municipal policies.

Freshman Coun. Carrie Adams has been appointed chairwoman of the newly renamed committee and gave an update on its progress at Monday night’s meeting of council.

Adams indicated the group’s first priority will be to develop the city’s new affordable housing incentive program but added that a number of bylaws are also on the agenda for review. Some examples given included the Staffing Bylaw, the Tree Bylaw, the Procedural Bylaw and the Travel and Hospitality Bylaw.
