SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The Prince District joint forces drug unit arrested two people and seized cocaine, contraband cigarettes, more than $62,000 in cash and other items as part of an investigation over the weekend.
On Friday, the police executed five search warrants in Summerside, one in Borden-Carleton and one in Hope River.
The next day, the joint unit executed two more search warrants in connection with the investigation.
The RCMP said three residences, one cottage, one property with storage buildings, one business and one commercial property were searched.
A 37-year-old man and a 40-year-old man were arrested Feb. 19 for alleged possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.
Both men were released and will appear in court at a later date.
The RCMP said police seized more than three ounces of cocaine, $62,470 in cash, 30,000 contraband cigarettes, cannabis, a money counter, brass knuckles, a Taser and other items.
