SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The first storm day of the year is here for the Public School's Branch of schools. 

On Sunday evening the governing body of public schools announced the cancellation of classes for Monday, Sept.9. This includes both English and French schools. 

"Due to widespread power outages, road closures, and continued storm clean up throughout the province, all PSB classes have been cancelled for Monday, Sept. 9,"  reads a statement on the board's official website. 

Hurricane Dorian hit the Island hard Saturday day and overnight into Sunday. Many Islanders are still dealing with the cleanup.
