NORTH BEDEQUE, P.E.I. — A 62-year-old man in P.E.I. faces charges after police executed a search warrant on Sept. 25.
The Prince District Joint Force Operations (JFO) Unit, which is comprised of RCMP Summerside and Kensington police members, executed the warrant at a residence in North Bedeque.
After a brief foot pursuit, the man was arrested for an outstanding warrant and a drug offence.
As a result of this arrest and search warrant, police seized:
- 78 grams of cocaine,
- 51 methamphetamine tablets,
- two oxycodone tablets and
- a small amount of cash.
The man was already facing a possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking charge from a search warrant executed back in May. The man was remanded into custody and his next court appearance is Oct. 8.
Prince District JFO was assisted by the Summerside Major Crime Unit, the P.E.I. Federal Serious and Organized Crime Unit, and the P.E.I. RCMP police dog services during the execution of the search warrant.
The investigation into this matter is still ongoing.
