Provincial government budget consultations begin in February

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — It’s the budget planning time of year again, and Islanders are invited to participate in pre-budget consultations taking place across the Island next month.

Finance Minister Heath MacDonald will hold the consultations on the 2019-2020 budget both online and at four public meetings. The consultations will provide Islanders, organizations and businesses an opportunity to give ideas and feedback.

“Engaging the public is an important part of the budgetary process. It gives us the opportunity to hear first-hand what is most important to Islanders,” said MacDonald.

Feedback can be made online at www.princeedwardisland.ca/prebudget until Feb. 22.

Public meetings will be held starting Feb. 5 in O’Leary, storm date Feb. 6. On Thursday Feb. 7 Summerside will act as host (there will be on site French interpretation services available), storm date is Feb. 8, there will be a meeting in Charlottetown on Feb. 12, storm date Feb. 14, and on in Montague on Feb. 15, storm date Feb. 19.
