O’LEARY, P.E.I. – P.E.I. Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries Robert Henderson was questioned during this week’s Prince County Fishermen’s Association annual general meeting about a Nova Scotia report that P.E.I. is responsible for over 90 per cent of the nitrate loading that goes into the Northumberland Strait.

“How do you deal with an issue such as that with your premier when you’re the Minister of Fisheries and Minister of Agriculture?” Lee Knox asked Henderson.

"All I can do is just keep going to as many things as I possibly can and represent the industries I represent as best I can," Henderson said.

Fisherman Danny Arsenault asked whether it would be easier for him to put pressure on agriculture to reduce its nitrate levels if he represented only fisheries.

“You just try to do your best in all this,” Henderson said.
