Registration has opened for this year’s pride parade in Charlottetown.

The parade takes place on Saturday, July 27 while the deadline for entries is Friday, July 19.

The application form and other details about the parade are available at www.pridepei.ca.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the first pride parade on P.E.I. Pride P.E.I. is planning 12 days of events and learning opportunities for Islanders, beginning on Saturday, July 20.

The theme of this year’s parade is ‘shapes + forms’. The organization says love comes in many different shapes and forms. Inspiration for the theme comes from the vibrant spectrum of gender and sexual diversity visible in the province.

Pride P.E.I. is also looking for volunteers to help with this year’s festival. Anyone interested is asked to fill out a volunteer form online. The deadline to apply is Sunday, July 14.

“Pride is about showing love for yourself and for others,’’ says Andrea MacPherson with Pride P.E.I. “The parade is one way we celebrate that and it continues to grow every year.’’
