CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - A New Year’s Day tradition for many Islanders will now be taking place later this month.

The Premier’s New Year’s Day Levee, which was to take place at the Confederation Centre of the Arts this afternoon, has been cancelled due to the forecasted snowfall and high winds.

A spokesperson with the premier’s office said the event will be rescheduled to be held on a Sunday afternoon before mid-January.

The Cornwall levee with the mayor and council has also been cancelled.
