Police seize drugs, weapons during targeted traffic stop in Summerside

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A 28-year-old P.E.I. man faces drug trafficking and impaired driving charges after being stopped by police on Friday.

The Prince District Joint Force Operations (JFO) Unit - comprised of RCMP, Summerside and Kensington police officers - conducted the targeted vehicle stop Friday, May 29 in Summerside.

As a result, police seized cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone and knives.

The man was arrested for drug offences and impaired driving.

He will be in court on a later date to face drug trafficking and impaired driving charges.

The Summerside Major Crime Unit and Summerside patrol assisted Prince District JFO with this investigation.
