CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A P.E.I. woman who twice didn’t show up to serve her sentence on weekends was recently given more jail time.
Laura Kimberly Beaton, 35, appeared before Chief Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court in Charlottetown where she pleaded guilty to being unlawfully at large.
The court heard that on July 2, Beaton was sentenced to serve 90 days in jail on weekends for several offences.
She didn’t show up for two of those weekends.
Orr sentenced Beaton to a further 30 days in jail, and all of her sentences will be served as straight time.
