A word from SaltWire Network chief meteorologist Cindy Day:

“Our local weather scene is pretty quiet, but there is so much happening all around us. While the remnants of Hurricane Paulette continue to track well off the southern tip of the Avalon, moisture from what’s left of Sally is travelling up the Mississippi Valley. It’s going to be all about timing, but it does look like the cold front pushing across the Great Lakes will win the race and reach our province ahead of the remnants of Sally. A strong south wind is developing as the front approaches and showers will come through along the edge of the system late Thursday. The moisture from what’s left of Sally will track offshore during the weekend. I am a little concerned about Teddy. Teddy is many days out but based on the forecast position of a couple steering systems, Teddy could bring us some wind and lots of rain early next week. Stay tuned…”
