A word from SaltWire Network chief meteorologist Cindy Day:

“The area of high pressure that moved in overnight is fresh, but the cooler than normal temperatures are not going to linger. A fast-moving trough of low pressure approaching from the west will bring the wind around to the south overnight and our temperature will rise after sunset … only to tumble again through the day Thursday. That cold front is going to open up the arctic pipeline and the week and the month will end a windy, cold note. Friday could be interesting as remnants of Zeta track offshore. Moisture from the backside of the storm system will feed into a dry, cold air mass and some of us could be scrambling to find our winter boots. A cold, gusty north wind will bring clearing during the day Saturday; the little ghosts and goblins will be trick or treating under the Full Hunter’s Moon.”
