A word from SaltWire Network chief meteorologist Cindy Day:

“A narrow through of low-pressure reaching back from a weak system over Labrador will stir up flurries across the Island today. Thursday is going to be quite fair but the same can’t be said for Friday. The leading edge of the system will bring some wet snow Thursday night, but there will be a changeover to rain early Friday. A tight pressure gradient will deliver a strong south wind, with gusts to 70 km/h. As the spring storm pulls away, colder air will trigger a couple of centimetres of snow in the wake of the system. Saturday will be breezy but dry; we’re saving the best for Easter Sunday. Another rain system is expected to move in on Monday.”
