A word from SaltWire Network chief meteorologist Cindy Day:

“Unsettled but not unpleasant – I can’t promise wall-to-wall sunshine, but overall, our Canada Day weather looks fair. We’re still dealing with a stalled weather pattern: a low-pressure system over the Gulf of Maine and a high over the Labrador Sea. Dry air from the high continues to push down across the province, keeping most of the rain at bay. Today’s clouds will give way to a partial clearing on Canada Day. The blocking pattern will break by the end of the week and a fair-weather system will build in from the west. It’s early, but it looks like we can expect fair weather for the first weekend of July.”
