A word from SaltWire Network chief meteorologist Cindy Day:

“A large area of high pressure currently over Quebec City will cross the province today and Wednesday treating us to sunshine and very pleasant early July temperatures. By Wednesday night, the fair-weather system with its clockwise circulation will be near Sable Island. The strengthening south wind ahead of a developing warm front will trigger showers and even thundershowers late Wednesday into Thursday. By the end of the week, temperatures will reach the upper 20s away from the coasts. The weekend is expected to get off to a pleasant start, but a large rain system tracking up the eastern seaboard will bring showers and thundershowers on Sunday.”
