Weather
There is a 60 per cent chance of snow showers across the province Tuesday morning with a north to northeast wind gusting to 40 km/h and a high of 1 C.
A word from SaltWire Network chief meteorologist Cindy Day:
“The large storm system spiralling out over the Labrador Sea continues to control our weather – at least indirectly. The cold northwest wind wrapping around the slow-moving storm has been producing snow squalls. Wind speeds are coming down now and the wind direction is changing just enough to put an end to the wind-driven snow. We continue to enjoy milder than normal late January temperatures, but not for too much longer. By the end of the week, daytime high temperatures will be a couple of degrees below normal with a cold north wind that will make it feel even colder. Overall, the weather picture remains quiet, with one exception: more onshore snow. A developing low-pressure system is expected to remain south of Sable on Friday but come in close enough to pull down a strong north wind. We could be in for two to four centimetres of snow Friday night and again late Saturday.”
