Weather
Sunny periods are expected for P.E.I. on Thursday with west wind gusting to 40 km/h and a high of 7 C.
A word from SaltWire Network chief meteorologist Cindy Day:
"The jet stream is a lot like a see-saw – when you push down on one end, the other end goes up. The temperatures are bouncing back out west, so down we go. Today’s cold front will open up the arctic pipeline and feed cold air into the top of extra-tropical storm Zeta tracking offshore. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few centimetres of onshore snow along our west-facing coastlines tonight and early Friday morning. The weekend is going to be interesting. The little ghosts and goblins will need a warm coat under their costumes; later afternoon temperatures will be just a degree or two above freezing. By Sunday, the cold north wind will have shifted to the south ahead of a developing weather bomb. We can expect rain and wind gusts to 80 km/h across the Island Sunday night and Monday.”
