A word from SaltWire Network chief meteorologist Cindy Day:

“The large high-pressure system that started the week near Quebec City now sits off the coast of Cape Cod. Its new location is more conducive to warmer temperatures across the province. The west to southwesterly circulation is pulling in above-normal temperatures but not for too much longer. A cold frontal line will drop from the north through the day Friday. The air mass behind the front is dry or sunny, but it’s much colder; for some, Saturday’s daytime highs will be eight to 12 degrees cooler. Despite the change of air mass, you will need to lather on some sunscreen. The UV index will be high all weekend.”
