Weather
A word from SaltWire Network’s chief meteorologist Cindy Day:
As a powerful winter storm tracks off the Atlantic Coast of Nova Scotia, the snow and wind will intensify, especially the wind.
By midnight, it will have come around to the north with gusts to 80 km/h or higher along the coastline; we expect near zero visibility in open areas.
On Friday, the cold northerlies will gust to 90 km/h, trigger onshore snow, reducing visibility and serving up wind chill near -20 C.
Saturday will be cold but fair ahead of another powerful system.
This one is expected to track a little further north and the snow is likely to change to rain through the day Sunday.
