A word from SaltWire Network chief meteorologist Cindy Day:

“The developing storm that I told you about last Friday is final here. It’s a well-travelled system with a very tight pressure gradient – so the wind is a big piece of this weather puzzle across the province. East to southeast winds will gust between 70 and 90 km/h as the snow transitions to ice pellets over eastern regions of the Island. Snowfall totals will be greatest across Prince County with anywhere from 15 to 20 centimetres likely; 10-15 cm expected elsewhere. Behind the low, the wind will come around to the southwest and that’s where it will stay until Saturday night. It will be cooler with a northwesterly breeze on Sunday.”
