CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A P.E.I. man who pushed a woman to the floor after getting into an argument with her and later sent her an email despite a no-contact order was sentenced recently to 10 days in jail.

Kevin Phillip MacPhee, 38, appeared before Judge John Douglas in provincial court in Charlottetown for sentencing after previously pleading guilty to the assault and breaching an undertaking.

Crown attorney Jeff MacDonald told the court that on May 17, MacPhee was at the victim’s home when the two got into an argument and he pushed her to the floor.

On May 21, MacPhee sent the woman an email that included thanking her for having him arrested at his work.

Along with the jail time, Douglas gave MacPhee one year of probation.
