SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A 39-year-old P.E.I. man has been arrested and charged following two incidents that took place April 15.

Anthony Troy Pitts has been charged in connection with two break-ins that occurred Monday in Summerside.

The first incident was reported to Summerside police early Monday morning when staff members of the Summerside Boys and Girls Club arrived for work at an office space on Water Street and found the building had been broken into.

There was evidence located at the scene that would later be linked to a second break-in that occurred at about 7:30 p.m. Monday when police were alerted to a break-in occurring at the Town Center Mall on Water Street.

A mall employee reported that the suspect had broken into the laundromat area of the mall and then fell through the ceiling while trying to access another area and was still in the building.

Police attended the scene and located Pitts who was arrested at the scene.

He appeared in court Tuesday and was charged with both break and enters and is remanded into custody until May 1 when he will appear in court again.
