SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A 23-year-old P.E.I. man of no fixed address has pleaded guilty to a number of criminal charges.

Cole Edward Hearn's charges include two counts of assault with a weapon (a baseball bat in both incidents), one count of possession of a weapon, aerosol spray, for a purpose dangerous to the public, one count of assault, one count of attempted theft with violence, one count of breaching a probation order and one count of failure to stop a vehicle when prompted to do so by police.

Hearn was sentenced to three years in jail, minus 74 days credit he spent in custody.

He is also prohibited from owning any weapons and must submit a DNA sample to the national criminal database.

Most of the incidents took place in November and December 2019 in the Summerside area.
