CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 56-year-old man who was found lying in the grass drunk while on a court order not to use any intoxicating substances was sentenced recently to one day in jail.
Patrick Warren Boone appeared before Judge John Douglas in provincial court in Charlottetown where he pleaded guilty to breaching his probation.
The court heard that on July 10, Boone was found lying on the grass on Fitzroy Street while on probation with a condition he not use any intoxicating substances.
After hearing his sentence, Boone said the judge who gave him the probation order set him up to fail.
“You never give a probation order to an alcoholic,” Boone said.
