From July 6-31, participating Island restaurants from tip-to-tip will be vying for the inaugural title of Prince Edward Island’s “Most Loved Lobster Roll”.

Created by Fresh Media, the agency behind the P.E.I. Burger Love campaign, P.E.I. Lobster Love is a partnership between Lobster P.E.I., P.E.I. Department of Fisheries and Communities and Canada’s Food Island.

The feature dish for the first P.E.I. Lobster Love campaign is the famous lobster roll, with more than 70 restaurants submitting their creative versions of this staple of summer.

Lobster roll fans are invited to participating restaurants to try out the Lobster Roll entry, before visiting peilobsterrlove.ca to “Rate Your Love” for the dish.

Once the ratings are in, one restaurant will have the chance to win the title of the first ever “Most Loved Lobster Roll”.

By voting, consumers will also have a chance to win gift certificates to local seafood markets plus other prizes.

While there are entries that lean on the more traditional version of the lobster roll, the creativity of Island chefs will also be on full display with some dishes featuring green apples, mango salsa, pea puree, cheese curds or even a coconut shrimp garnish.

“On Prince Edward Island, Canada’s Food Island, we like to celebrate our hard working Island fishers, farmers, processors, and innovators,” said Food Island Partnership chair, Mitch Cobb.

“P.E.I. Lobster Love is one of many promotions that celebrate all the hard work and dedication behind our food industry on Prince Edward Island.”

The full list of P.E.I. Lobster Love creations, along with an online map highlighting all the participating locations across the Island, will be posted on July 6 at peilobsterlove.ca.
