DARLINGTON, P.E.I. – Animal Protection Officers from the P.E.I. Humane Society have seized a number of “vulnerable” animals from a farm in Darlington.

The animals, the number and species of which have not been released by officials, were seized on Dec. 11.

The owners have been given specific instructions to comply with the Animal Welfare Act and regulations, which requires meeting the standards of the Code of Practice for kennel operations.

The investigation is ongoing and the humane society is working with the farm's owners to ensure the conditions of the facility meet the standards of care.
