Gas prices took a hike overnight for the first time since February, in the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission's latest update.

As of 12:01 a.m., Friday, April 10, pump prices increased by 2 cents per litre (cpl), bringing the cost of a fillup at self-serve outlets to between 74.2 to 75.3 cpl for unleaded gas.

Diesel and furnace oil prices decreased by 1 cent. Diesel prices now range from 95.1 to 96.3 cpl., while the maximum price for furnace oil is 66.3 cpl.

Maximum prices for propane range from 68.4 to 69.5 cpl. Propane prices increased by 0.2 cpl for Irving Energy Distribution and Marketing, Kenmac Energy Inc., and Noonan Petroleum; by 1.1 cpl for Superior Propane; and by 0.5 cpl for Island Petroleum.

The commission’s next scheduled price adjustment is April 17.
