SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A 47-year-old fisherman had to give up some of his lobster traps recently because the openings weren’t the right size.
Randy J. Thomas, of Lennox Island has pleaded guilty to one count of contravening the Aboriginal Communal Fishing Licences Regulations by fishing for lobster with a trap or traps that didn’t have proper openings.
The charge is from May 27 in Malpeque Bay.
Thomas was fined $2,000 and had to forfeit an undisclosed number of traps.
